The MarKum Inn has a rich history. Since the late 19th century, the site has ranged from hopping to hiatus; the latter occurring when the 1895 establishment burned down in 1950 and remained vacant until its 1970 rebuilding and reopening. Tragedy struck again in 2014 when it burned to the ground a second time. Two long years later, it's been re-imagined from the ground up.

"Quaint, warm, welcoming decor. We were concerned that the new Markum inn wouldn't be as good as the original. We were pleasantly surprised! The beef is all local (Canby), the sides are fresh and portions generous! I had prime rib-cooked to perfection!! Delicious food at a reasonable price! You don't want to miss this gem!!!" ~ Ruthy R.
